How to apply
This section comprises information on applications, admissions and the provision of certified documentation.

Step 1
Submit all your relevant documents from the application checklist. Application processing Fee of AUD$120 must be included with application
(Applications received without payment will not be processed.)- When we receive your application we will be in touch to arrange an online interview.
- The interview is your chance to have a chat with an AIE teacher who is interesting in learning more about your reasons for wanting to study this course and is an opportunity for you to ask questions and demonstrate your interest and potential to complete the course to a high standard.
- We would like to understand your current skills and knowledge by having a look at any work that you have created that relate to the course. This portfolio of work and can be submitted at the time of application or you can send before your interview.

Step 2
If accepted into the course, we will send you a Letter of Offer.
This letter will:
- Explain the course that you have been accepted into;
- Confirm the fees that are payable, details on how to pay and the course start date, and details on how you can pay for the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC);
- Include an Acceptance of Offer Declaration for you to complete.
If your application is not successful we will write to you explaining why.
Step 3
To secure a place in the course, you should provide AIE with the following:
- Evidence that you have paid the first instalment of your tuition fee as indicated on your invoice and your OSHC premium (if applicable)
- The completed Acceptance of Offer Declaration.
Step 4
Once we receive the documents explained in Step 3 we will send you a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) which confirms your acceptance into your course and which you will need to take to the Australian diplomatic mission to obtain your student visa
Step 5
Apply for your Student Visa through the Australian diplomatic mission nearest you. Alternatively, if you have applied for study at AIE through one of our overseas representative offices, that office will also be able to assist you with these procedures.
Certified Documents
Please read this section carefully: Only original or certified copies of documents will be accepted. If you send us copies they must be certified by an authorised officer from one of the following organisations:
- The official records department of the institution that originally issued the documents;
- An Australian diplomatic mission;
- An authorised representative of AIE.
Your present name must be added to copies of qualifications obtained under a former name. Certified translations must accompany documents that are not in English.
Application Checklist
Documents are not in English should be provided with a certified translation.
- A certified copy of your passport
- A certified copy of your high school certificate and transcript equivalent to Australian year 12
- A certified copy of your certificate, transcript or academic records of any further study you are currently studying or have completed
- Evidence of English language proficiency: either a proficiency in English of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent*

We would also request that applicants prepare and submit Genuine Student Statement. This document is required by the Australia Government as part of a student visa application.
*Equivalent:
- Graduated Year 12 from an Australian High School
- Completed a Certificate IV qualification within Australia
- Upper-Intermediate level of English Certificate from AIE appointed English Language Centre
- Graduate from an International Baccalaureate Diploma in overseas
