AIE Scholarships

AIE has scholarships for eligible learners in:

AIE's Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs

AIE offers merit-based and financial hardship scholarships to support learners with specific needs and disadvantages.

  1. Prospective learners may apply for a scholarship prior to being accepted into the program. To be eligible to receive a scholarship, applicants will need to meet the entry requirements, progress through the admissions process and enrol into the program.
  2. Learners receiving scholarships may choose to receive the awarded amount as a cash bursary or used towards their tuition fees.
  3. Learners receiving scholarships are required to meet satisfactory attendance and satisfactory academic progress to maintain eligibility.
  4. AIE does not offer advice regarding taxation or Centrelink implications of any scholarships received by learners.

AIE's Bachelor Degree programs

AIE Institute encourages students to strive for academic excellence, serve one another and make contributions to the wider community. AIE Institute has developed several merit-based scholarships and bursaries to support students striving for academic excellence,  contributing to the wider AIE Institute community and assist students with specific needs and disadvantages.

  • Successful domestic applicants can choose between a discount on their course fees or a cash bursary.
  • International students can apply for a merit-based scholarship towards their tuition fees. This cannot be taken as a cash bursary.
  • Scholarships and bursaries are paid post census date for each unit.
  • AIE Institute does not offer advice regarding the taxation of any scholarships or bursaries received or Centrelink implications of any scholarships or bursaries received by learners.

  • Creative Innovator Scholarship | AIE

    Creative Innovator Scholarship

    The Creative Innovator Scholarship scholarship is designed for passionate game artists, game designers and game programmers who wish to continue developing their skills through the Bachelor of Game Development. Applicants need to demonstrate examples of their creative work to show their skills and knowledge. This scholarship is worth a total of $12,000 and distributed over the 6 semesters of the degree program.

  • Women in the Game Programming Scholarship | AIE

    Women in the Game Programming Scholarship

    This scholarship is provided to support women studying game programming and pursuing careers in these areas. Applicants need to demonstrate their interest in this area by providing examples of their work and/or other accomplishments. This scholarship is worth a total of $12,000 and distributed over the 6 semesters of the degree program.

  • Canberra Student Scholarship | AIE

    Canberra Student Scholarship (2023)

    This is provided for students that applied for the Bachelor of Game Development in Canberra prior to the 1st September 2022. This scholarship aims to assist students from the Canberra region to relocate to Sydney in order to complete the Bachelor program. The scholarship can be applied to tuition fees or paid as a cash bursary in instalments of $8,000 for the first year and $4,000 for the second and third years.

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship | AIE

    Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship

    This scholarship is provided for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People that wish to pursue a game development careers through the Bachelor of Game Development. Applicants need to demonstrate eligibility and provide examples of their creative work. This scholarship is worth a total of $12,000 and distributed over the 6 semesters of the degree program.

  • People with Disability Scholarship | AIE

    People with Disability Scholarship

    This scholarship is provided for people with disability to support their studies in the Bachelor of Game Development. Applicants need to demonstrate eligibility and provide examples of their creative work. This scholarship is worth a total of $12,000 and distributed over the 6 semesters of the degree program.

  • Financial Needs-Based Scholarship | AIE

    Financial Needs-Based Scholarship

    This scholarship is provided for students experiencing financial hardship and provided to support their studies in the Bachelor of Game Development. Applicants need to demonstrate eligibility and provide examples of their creative work. This scholarship is worth a total of $12,000 and distributed over the 6 semesters of the degree program.

  • Rural or Isolated Areas Scholarship | AIE

    Remote, Rural or Isolated Areas Scholarship

    This scholarship is provided for people who, within the two years immediately prior to the start of their study, lived in a regional or remote area of Australia. Applicants need to demonstrate eligibility and provide examples of their creative work. This scholarship is worth a total of $12,000 and distributed over the 6 semesters of the degree program.
