Visual Effects Foundations

The Visual Effects Foundations course is designed to introduce students to the many career opportunities available for creative professionals, post-production artists and film production crews.
This hands-on course will give students an understanding of the processes and tools used in the film production, 3D animation and post-production industries. Students will develop a concept, prepare video assets, create storyboards, develop visual effects and perform the compositing, editing and other post-production processes needed to create a short film production based on a brief.
Visual Effects Foundations serves as a valuable bridge to further study in visual effects, postproduction, film production, and 3D animation.
Graduates leave with a portfolio of work, knowledge, and skills useful in many other multimedia and creative industries.
The course introduces students to the fundamentals of visual effects including:
- Working safely on film sets
- Using cameras, lighting and film equipment
- Colour grading
- 3D Modelling and Texturing
- Storyboarding
- Editing film footage and sound
- Lighting Principles
- Rendering
