Podcasting Foundations

The Podcasting Foundations course will provide students with an understanding and practical application of audio recording software and products.

Students will create, write, voice, publish and promote professional standard commercials, interviews and podcasts and learn of the many career opportunities in the booming audio, media production and podcasting industries.

The course covers the fundamentals of creating a podcast series including

  • Voice Over
  • Research and writing for an audio audience
  • Construction and production
  • Interviewing and sourcing guests
  • Recording, editing & mixing sound
  • Music and Sound effects
  • Marketing and promotion

This course focuses on the audio and voice recording process and learning to create professional standard podcast episodes and series.

Students will learn how to use their voice, record, edit and mix audio, source and interview guests and create from research and writing stages to publishing and promotion, a complete podcast product. Upon completion they will have a professional standard voice reel, produced long format interviews and published podcast episodes and series.

Students will get practical experience of radio stations, recording studios, outside broadcasting, digital media and newsroom settings.

Podcast Foundations provides students with the skills and experience to enter the booming podcasting, voiceover, broadcast and audio production and engineering industries. Graduates leave with an online voice and audio portfolio as well as the ability to promote and market both themselves and their audio products.

Successful completion of the course will allow you to continue to create podcasts and other audio products and services and will build a portfolio for entry into AIE’s other foundation or Diploma level courses.

This course is suitable for students 16 and older.

    Final week 9am to 4:45pm - Mon 30th September to Thur 3rd October (9am - 5pm)
    (Abides by ACT school holiday breaks except the last week)

  • 2 Semesters (28 weeks)
  • Full Fee: $3260
  • Year 10, 11 and 12: $1630

Courses fees include a non-refundable enrolment fee ($65).
