AIE has ten students teams at PAX Australia this weekend, showing their original games at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 9 to 11 October.
PAX AUS gives these teams the chance to put their games in front of thousands of players, get real feedback, and meet developers, publishers and others from the games industry. Exhibiting at Australia’s biggest games event is a fantastic opportunity, and for many of these teams it’s the first step towards releasing their game commercially and making their dream of running their own studio a reality.

Many of the games on show were made by students in AIE’s Graduate Diploma program, where students learn how to commercialise their games and set up their own studios. They’re joined by teams from our Degree and Advanced Diploma programs, giving PAX visitors a look at the range of talent coming through AIE.
Drop by and play these games:

Mimicry! – Wayward Skies Studio
A chaotic multiplayer hide-and-seek game for up to 12 players. Mischievous Mimics have escaped from their lab. Play as a Mimic and shapeshift into any object to hide in plain sight, or as a HAZMAT-suited Exterminator hunting them down with weapons and gadgets. Mimics who are caught join the Exterminators, so nobody sits out.

Tiny Transit – Lab Grown Games
Welcome to Tiny Island. You play as Blubba, the world’s most chaotic, lovable and plump delivery seal. Explore the mysterious island, restore it to its former glory and meet a cast of colourful weirdos along the way.

Sacrisigil – VisceraTek
An alien movement shooter. Break out of a dystopian containment facility, complete battle objectives and race through a concrete jungle with flesh weapons and unstoppable momentum.

Tidy – GSS Studios
A fast-paced tidying game where you race to clean a messy house before Mum gets home. It tests your speed, precision and creativity.

Gramaus – 5000 Pigeons
A fantasy action roguelike. As the hero Humdrum, fight through a cult that worships a minor cat deity, grow stronger with forbidden tomes and take down the cat god.

Deciduem – Sable Fables
The cycle of the seasons has stopped, and only you can restart it. In this action puzzle game, you travel through landscapes shaped by four seasonal guardians. You earn each guardian’s blessing, which gives you new ways to fight enemies and solve puzzles.

ShieldPunk – SunBreaker Games
A fast-paced first-person 3D movement platformer. You’re a punk escaping a huge, multi-layered planetary factory. Slam your shield into the ground to launch into the air, crash into enemies and master your momentum.

A Knight’s Tail – The Mouseketeers
A short puzzle platformer. You play a tiny mouse escaping a mad scientist’s laboratory, stealing all the cheese you can find on the way.

Stuck in Steel – Gerbil Games
A multiplayer tank battle played from inside the tank. As a crew member, you switch between stations to destroy the enemy tank before yours is blown up.

WildCaster – Hyrax Studios
An action-adventure game. You’re a wandering wizard who uses the powers of different creatures to fight across a strange and dangerous island.
Congratulations to all our student teams. Come and say hello at booth 1240!
