Pathways from AIE to university

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment provides pathway opportunities for students who wish to pursue further academic study at university level.

Note: Students wishing to study the Bachelor of Games and Virtual Worlds (Programming) delivered by AIE in partnership with the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) click here

Alternatively, the AIE has negotiated articulation arrangements on your behalf with the following universities:

Australian National University (ANU)

Information listed below is an indication only and the amount of standing awarded will be based on final results of the Advanced Diploma on a case-by-case basis once results are received.

Students who have completed 10343NAT* Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development with a programming specialisation can apply for Advanced Standing of up to 1 Year for any of the following courses:
* This course has been re-accredited as the Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development 10702NAT.

University of Canberra

Information listed below is an indication only and a formal determination of your credit for prior learning (credit transfer) will be done by the university at the time of enrolment.

Students who have completed 10343NAT* Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development with a specialisation in either Game Art and Animation or Game Design and Production can receive 48 credit points of advanced standing out of 72 credit points for the following course:*
* This course has been re-accredited as the Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development 10702NAT.

Students that have completed CUF60107 Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media can receive 48 credit points of advanced standing out of 72 credit points for the following course:

Deakin University

Pending further discussions between AIE and Deakin University, Advanced Standing may be available for the following courses subject to confirmation:

  • A353 Bachelor of Creative Arts (Animation & Motion Capture)
  • S326 Bachelor of Information Technology

AIE is currently negotiating with a number of additional universities in Australia to establish greater choices in university education for AIE graduates.
