AIE Overview
Stephanie Gerrard, Events Officer
The games and film industry continues to grow significantly both in Australia and overseas during this session students will be given an in-depth analysis of the industry. The session will highlight the success of Australia’s VFX industry and the growth of the independent games industry.
Game Design & Production Demo
Myles Blasonato , Game Design Teacher
This demo will be delivered by industry professional Myles who will focus on core game design skills and programming functionality using Unity.
Game Designers are instrumental in the development of the concepts, vision and implementation of game play dynamics in video game production. They work closely with Game programmers who are key when it comes to creating the framework, functionality and interaction in a game.
3D Animation & VFX for Film
Paco Casares, 3D Art Teacher
Students will see some of the core skills and techniques used by 3D artists in the games and film VFX industry. Using Autodesk Maya, and Zbrush Paco will demonstrate dynamic character sculptures and implement animation techniques.

What are the entry requirements for your courses?
Entry into AIE career courses are based on portfolio and an interview as entry. More info here: https://aie.edu.au/entry-requirements
There are no entry requirements into our short certificate courses!
What should my portfolio contain?
We want your portfolio to contain any of your creative works that showcase your passion and experience in the area you are applying for. More info here: https://aie.edu.au/portfolio
How much do the courses cost?

What financial assistance is available?
Eligible students can apply for the VET Student Loan Scheme by the Australian Government.
Certain students may also be eligible to apply for a scholarship. In addition, we have interest-free payment plans available to all students! More info on our website: https://aie.edu.au/student-information/payment-options

What are the in-class hours for a full-time course?
Our classes run 5 days a fortnight, from 9am till 5pm each day. We do this to simulate a real studio environment in the games/film industry (and also to maximise your face-to-face time with our teachers!). For our July intensive course, students are in class 5 days per week.
Where are your campuses located?
We currently have campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and a dedicated Online campus. We also have 2 campuses in the USA!

Do I need to do an introductory course?
Introductory courses are helpful to get you started in 3D Art, Design and Programming, especially if you don’t have an existing portfolio! However, it is not compulsory for you to do an introductory course in order to apply for a career course.
How old do I have to be?
We recommend you to have completed high school or an equivalent qualification for our career courses. You can apply for our introductory courses from Year 10 (15/16 years) onwards!
We have some school holiday courses for all students aged 12 and up.

AIE tries to cater to each student’s individual needs and learning. If you’d like to discuss how we can best support your needs, please book an appointment with your respective campus and we can have a chat about it!
