What first interested you about 3D animation?
When I was in primary school I first started getting interested in 3D animation/graphics, and specifically games after my father bought me my first gaming system, the Sega Game GEAR. From this my interest in digital art soared and I played many games on many systems, always being interested in how they were made and how the creators made them look how they did.
How have your studies at AIE assisted preparing you for working in the games industry?
Most certainly it has. Without the AIE and its course specifically designed for industry training, I would have not gained employment in the games industry when I did.
How did AIE assist you in gaining employment?
Via the direct instruction and aid from tutors and the final year project aimed at producing a game from start to finish.
What did you enjoy most about your time at AIE?
The chance to interact with industry veterans and newcomers alike who are all passionate about game development and games in general.
What are your favourite things about your current job?
The chance to work on interesting and engaging projects and to know that what I produce will eventually be part of a commercial game project. And also to work alongside other like minded people who enjoy making and playing games.
What advice would you give aspiring games artists?
To create your own art in your own time and, after gaining a strong passion for creating art and working within teams and by yourself, seek out and attend a learning institution which teaches you that which can only be taught from people from the industry. Not only that, but working on mods is by far the best way to gain knowledge of game development without actually being professionally employed or joining a focused learning institution.
Where do you hope to find yourself in five years time?
Working on further game projects which I can be strongly passionate about and being in an environment that nurtures a creative passion while still being strongly focused on creating quality and above all entertaining games.

Just a note to anyone wanting to be part of game development: The most important thing you should have is a strong willingness to learn new things and to always adapt to new situations.
