Entry Requirements

English Language

IELTS Overall Score: 5.5 (with a minimum score of 5.0 for Writing, and 6.0 for Listening).

Students who do not meet the English requirements will be given a Provisional Letter of Offer. In this situation you will be required to enrol in a suitable English language course prior to commencing your studies at AIE. AIE is able to help you with your choice of language centre.

Art Students

The portfolio is the most important component of a student’s application. All applicants must provide evidence of 2D or 3D artistic and/or design ability, examples of which to be presented in a suitable format (CD for example), and sent with the Application Form. The work presented will not be returned to the applicant.

Programming Students

Students interested in the Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development (Programming) are not required to present a portfolio. Applicants need to be highly competent in mathematics, have proven ability in a programming language and may be asked to complete a test to assess their knowledge of C/C++ programming skills before being accepted into the course.

Academic Qualifications and Direct Entry

Completion of high school in your home country is highly desirable. Students who do not fulfill this requirement are still encouraged to apply as the success of application is primarily decided on portfolio or programming potential. Students with existing skills or experience can apply for Direct Entry and may be eligible for credit and/or advanced standing into second year of study.
